Wythe County is seeking a full-time Utility Maintenance Crew Leader - Water Utility Operator. 

Under the direct supervision of the Water Superintendent, as crew leader, complete assigned work orders and tasks, including but not limited to construction and repair work as required; supervising and participating in the installation, maintenance, repair and/or construction of municipal water and sewer utility lines and related appurtenances. Perform water distribution and water operator duties as assigned; obtaining or having thorough knowledge of water distribution systems; possess or ability to obtain Class 5 water license issued by the State of Virginia within twelve months.

Wythe County is seeking full and part-time Advanced Life Support (ALS) Providers. ALS Providers will provide timely, compassionate emergency medical care and response for patients experiencing a medical emergency and/or traumatic injury; ensure continuity of care at the scene and during transport to an appropriate medical facility or to a higher-trained EMS provider; operate and maintain agency apparatus and equipment with due regard, pursuant to the Code of Virginia and regulatory requirements; assist in the routine maintenance and inspection of agency apparatus, facilities, and equipment; function as an efficient team member in delivering emergency medical care in often hazardous and/or stressful conditions; assist supervisory and billing staff in timely making reports, collecting data and submitting for billing; perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Full time positions are hourly, non-exempt from overtime, rotating & scheduled shifts, on-call rotation. Wythe County provides full benefits including paid leave, health, vision and dental insurance, VRS retirement.

Part-time positions are hourly, no benefits, scheduled shifts.

The County of Wythe seeks qualified firefighters to fill paid part-time day shift.

These county employees will staff two-person daylight shifts weekdays at Max Meadows Fire Department, supplementing volunteer fire and accident response to meet Wythe County’s desired public safety outcomes for residents, businesses and visitors.

Employees will be scheduled for up to 30 hours (three 10-hour shifts) per week, typically between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., with primary duties in: emergency response; apparatus checks and maintenance; facilities and equipment maintenance; training; response records and reporting.

Scheduling will be flexible based on applicant availability.

 

Acceptable driving history required, along with clear drug screen, criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
